Prayer Requests
Though we try to keep our requests as infrequent as possible, however, SBM has day-to-day needs and occasionally there are needs that we want to bring to your attention. Below are areas of needs you can pray with us about.
1. Increasing the GENERAL FUND – this is my greatest burden as the Executive Director and the greatest need SBM has at the present time.
• Our annual budget takes care of all four sessions of SBI at $3,000.00 per session. This totals $12,000.00 annually. This was the greatest need that Dr Cadwell worked the hardest at when it came to raising funds for SBM.
• We want to be able to increase this amount as the student body of SBI grows. Church support is needed as we continue training nationals to reach their “kinsmen according to the flesh!”
• The day-to-day care of SBM comes from this fund. We are thankful for Grace Baptist Church in Muncie (Neil and Peggy’s home church) for the kindness of their Pastor, Rory Bond who allows his church staff to help us with our office needs.
• We help our Founder’s widow, Peggy, through the General Fund.
2. CAMP MINISTRY – Every year we have designated offerings come in this ministry. We also support these camps from our General Fund In 2019, we had over $11,000.00 come in from several donors for our camp ministries. We were able to send this money to our missionary, Derek Thomas, and he was able to conduct several camps throughout the country. It has been our joy to see scores and hundreds of kids saved throughout our Camp Ministry! Some of these teens that get saved have been called to preach and have ended up studying at Slavic Baptist Institute!
3. ORPHANAGES – We also help our graduates who are pastors who have a desire to start an orphanage to get started by building an addition on to their house, or find a building they can get started in. This way Brother Thomas can see first-hand that our funds are going to the right people… and for the right purpose.
4. EVANGELISTIC MEETINGS – From time to time we hold meetings in various cities throughout Ukraine and other countries. The General Fund helps fund these efforts as the Lord leads and allows.
ACCOUNTABILITY – The SBM Board of Trustees meet every August along with our two missionaries (Brother Thomas and Brother Lendermon). Reports are given to the SBM who give reports to the board, along with our treasurer, Mike Whisler (CPA), and me as the Executive Director.
We are so thankful for the generosity of so many of our supporters since we begin SBI & SBM. Because of your gifts we have been able to do things for His glory that we would have never dreamed imaginable. Your gifts have made it possible for SBM to continue our support to SBI (we now have over 200 graduates). We have seen hundreds and hundreds of souls come to Christ, several Baptist churches planted, three orphanages started, hundreds of kids sponsored to camp, and a rehab ministry started. Thank you for your prayers and your support.
All gifts should be made payable and sent to:
